10:00 AM Sunday Worship will be outside in the church parking lot for Reformation Sunday (Oct 31) and All Saints Sunday (Nov 7).  Bring your own chair.

Free Community Trunk or Treat Event, Saturday, October 30th, 4-6 PM.  To keep it safe and physically distant,  RSVP here.

Effective September 1, 2021, when the Positive Test Rate in Durham County stays below 3.0% for 2 consecutive weeks, we will offer an in person worship option on Sundays again. The building remains available to the other groups that use the building "at their own risk" while following the city and county COVID guidelines for wearing a mask.  Thank you.  This is hard for everyone, so stay strong, be patient, give yourself & others grace, and God Bless.

Welcome

Christus Victor

Lutheran Church

First time here?  Welcome and God bless you!  During COVID, we are worshiping together on Zoom.  Join us at 10:00 AM on Sunday Mornings!  On this website you will find links to join our online activities.  You can also find recordings of past worship services and other information about CVLC.  If you are looking for something and can't find it, just click here and we'll help you.

The Almighty Triune God has given us a mission, it is: Fearlessly trusting God, we accept all others, ourselves, and our calling to give comfort.  You are invited to join us in living out God's mission.

"Accept All Others"

Fall Stewardship Drive

This Fall we are inviting you to pray for and support the ministries at CVLC through this Accept All Others Stewardship Drive.  Council plans to include new ministries that help CVLC accept all others in the 2022 Mission Spending Plan (aka the operating budget).  Everyone is invited to:

1. Be a Prayer Partner: Share your prayer requests in the Discipleship Gifts form.  That prayer request will go to another CVLC member who will pray for you.  And you will be assigned someone, and given their prayer request to pray over too.

2.  Fill out the Discipleship Gifts Form: The Holy Spirit has given everyone spiritual gifts in their baptism.  Fill out the entire Discipleship Gifts form so we can connect your gifts to life giving ministries.

3.  Accept All Others Sunday: On Reformation Sunday, October 31st, we will collect intend-to-give cards during worship (hopefully, an outdoor worship service).

Members will receive details in the mail and we will post new information about council's goals for 2022 here each week.  Your generosity makes it possible for us to live out God's Mission!

Together Campaign

$600,000

Money committed to the Building Renovation.

Donate online now!

On May 31st, 2021, a resounding 76% of the voting members voted in favor of taking out a loan so that we can build the first two phases of the renovation at the same time.  We are now working with the architect to make these goals a reality:

  • the building will better reflect God's mission
  • people of all abilities will be together in the building, this includes an elevator and new accessible bathrooms
  • the band led worship service and choir led worship will be together in a more flexible Sanctuary
  • more space for comfort-giving ministries
