Off Campus Activities

Faith and fellowship extend beyond our church walls. Throughout the year, Christus Victor Lutheran Church participates in a variety of off-campus activities, including events hosted by neighboring congregations and organizations. Whether attending movie screenings, community gatherings, concerts, or other special occasions, these experiences provide opportunities to connect with others, strengthen relationships, and share in the life of the wider Christian community.

1946: The Mistranslation That Shifted Culture (2022)

On Sunday, June 28th at 3pm in the community room, below the sanctuary, of Fairmont United Methodist Church, there will be a screening of the hour-long documentary 1946: The Mistranslation that Shifted a Culture. This follows the story of researchers who trace the origins of the anti-gay movement among Christians to a mistranslation of the Bible in 1946. There will be a community discussion following the film.

My Name is Pauli Murray (2021)

Join us on Sunday, July 19th at 2pm at St. Titus’ Episcopal Church for a special screening of the documentary My Name is Pauli Murray, presented in partnership with Christus Victor Lutheran Church. This powerful film explores the extraordinary life and enduring legacy of The Rev. Dr. Pauli Murray — priest, poet, lawyer, activist, and trailblazer for civil and human rights. The screening will be followed by a community discussion and light refreshments. All are welcome to attend.

Teacher Supply Table

As a way of supporting our local educators, Christus Victor Lutheran Church will host a free Teacher Supply Table at Lowes Grove Middle School on August 18 at 10:30 AM. Teachers are invited to stop by and pick up classroom supplies to help prepare for the new school year.

We invite our congregation and community to help make this ministry a success by donating much-needed school supplies. Donations may be placed in the bin located in the narthex. A list of requested items is posted above the donation bin. Thank you for helping us share Christ’s love and support the teachers who invest so much in our children and community!
